Structural Engineering Department Manager

The Structural Engineer will accomplish department objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating departments activities ti meet company objectives and customer satisfaction. Will be responsible for managing engineering department to provide staff resources to support project teams to meet project scope, budget, and schedule. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Lead Engineering team 
  • Work with Clients 
  • Supervise mentor, and lead department staff 
  • Coordinates with other disciplines 
  • Review material submittals and conduct on-site observations 
  • Manages staff schedules 
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to establish and meet deadlines and budgets 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge 
  • Participate and assist in marketing of new client and job opportunities 
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, mentoring, and training new employees 
  • Participate in employee evaluations 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an ABET Engineering program 
  • 8-12 years engineering experience 
  • Both Commercial & Industrial Experience Required 
  • Design, detailing, and construction experience 
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Excellent communication and follow through skills 
  • Licensed PE -- REQUIRED 
  • NSPE Member 
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote sites
