Lumber Project Manager

Location: MS, LA, AL, MS, LA, AL

Key Functions:

The position works closely with mill leadership teams, technical team members and external contractors and vendors to safety and efficiently implement capital and pool projects within budgetary guidelines.  The successful candidate should be willing to work in a true team environment with a constant slate of projects being implemented at multiple locations. The successful candidate will need to possess excellent organizational skills to manage daily priorities and exceptional leadership skills for successful capital and pool project installations. The position should lead and facilitate the capital execution process for the area while organizing and documenting all required records serving as central process gatekeeper.

The position is instrumental in advising area leaders in technology enhancements needed to improve operating performance and supporting process reliability improvement and strategies.


  • Demonstrated personal commitment to safety
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university, and a minimum of five years of progressive industrial, mechanical, civil, electrical engineering experience in multi-million dollar projects.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of
    • safe work practices in an industrial environment
    • industrial equipment theory and operation
    • project management
    • scheduling, and purchasing
    • contractor management
  • A working knowledge of ACAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience leading process reliability practices
  • Extensive travel as projects warrant
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Wood products and specifically previous lumber experience
