Paper Machine Area Leader

The Paper Machine Area Leader will lead a team of supervisors, as well as highly skilled technicians in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. This individual will also effectively manage area personnel by exhibiting strong leadership skills. As a result, they will be held accountable for employee and organizational development plans, as well as management strategies. They will utilize reliability concepts and critical thinking skills, in order to address all issues related to Paper Machine operations. In addition, they will provide support in investigating and implementing new technologies and process upgrades. The Paper Machine Area Leader will also spearhead and participate in continuous improvement efforts to drive mill initiatives of plant metrics. Finally, the Paper Machine Area Leader actively collaborates and shares knowledge with cross-functional departments to ensure overall success of operational goals, and drives safety culture.

  • B.S. in Engineering, Paper Science or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years’ manufacturing experience; minimum of 5 years working in a Pulp & Paper Manufacturing facility 
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Union environment experience is preferred
  • Lead team of supervisors and highly skilled technicians in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Effectively manage area personnel by exhibiting strong leadership skills; accountable for employee and organizational development plans and management strategies
