Environmental Specialist

Location: IA, IA

This position provides environmental engineering support to the plant on air, water and waste issues. It also monitors and maintains environmental programs as assigned to ensure compliance in accordance with federal/state/local regulations.
Key Job Elements:
1. Monitoring support of all environmental aspects of the plant and works to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
2. Responsible for assisting in the gathering and preparation of required reports to federal and state agencies and for the maintenance of such records and files.
3. Will be a resource to the site to address daily environmental concerns.
4. Responsible to ensure compliance of Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Storm Water and Pollution Prevention as required.
5. Performs incident investigations and reports for environmental incidents.
6. Works closely with key personnel in monitoring daily key parameters to ensure compliance.
7. Will be a key player with the engineering staff to provide guidance on engineering projects.
8. Participates in training, stack testing and working with outside services as necessary to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
Position Requirements:
1.  Environmental or Engineering degree preferred, or similar degree/experience.
2. Environmental experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of state, local and U.S. Government regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
4. Position requires effective organizational skills, time management skills and communication skills
