Sr. Process/Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of the CMP Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer is to provide technical support in manufacturing to deliver quality products on time and on budget. Main responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the process and equipment performance; supporting the safety, environmental, and quality systems; supporting business requests for information and new product development.
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITES
  • Providing technical support to manufacturing, business group, customers, and maintenance including troubleshooting, modification/design, and other process/project orientated work.
  • Providing problem solving expertise for a wide range of technical problems of various engineering projects.
  • Responsible for planning and executing projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Document FMEAs for design, process, and implementation plans.
  • Represent MFG in new product or process planning with Development group
  • Support manufacturing with daily batch review for product / process issues and track to reduce out of specification and out of control products that result in disposal or rework.
  • Populate customer investigations and reports with statistically valid data and analysis.
  • Determine and improve process capabilities.
  • Review raw material parameters and determine fitness for use per customer requirements.
  • Perform batch release in LIMS and SAP.
  • Input, monitor, update and improve Mii SQL database usage throughout the plant.
  • Analyze trend data for raw materials, finished goods, and MFG process parameters.
  • Understand Management of Change and draft internal White Papers for process changes, coordinate change reports to customers as needed.
  • Draft, review, update and approve SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for the manufacturing area.
  • Assist in improving process flow, cycle time reduction, and continuous improvement activities and projects.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits and answer customer complaints using 8D or customer formats.
  • Preparing periodic (weekly, monthly and quarterly) SPC reports using lab and MFG databases to interested parties, and provide statistical insight for the non-conforming process or materials.
  • Provide costing and project plans for process improvement projects.
  • Identify areas for potential cost reductions or process improvements, and lead projects to budgetary and time requirements.
  • Report project status to senior management in review meetings.
  • Support and participate in Environmental, Safety and Health and quality department programs and requirements.
  • Member of, internal ISO audit teams, Quality Teams, supplier audit teams, site Safety Committee.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent field, required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in high-volume chemical manufacturing, chemical product development, or similar equivalent technical process experience.
  • Knowledge in the use of LIMS (Lab database), SAP, JMP statistics, SOL databases, preferred.
  • Strong process/ product troubleshooting and improvement skills.
  • Strong SPC knowledge and demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills mandatory.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
