Key Functions:
  • Role model safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living company core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates. 
  • Actively lead and participate in the plant safety program including implementing, managing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, practices and projects. 
  • Optimizing functional area including production, scheduling, and asset utilization.
  • Control and improve productivity and reduce/manage costs. 
  • Manage the daily activities of the facility to meet unit goals (metric and financial). 
  • Lead the planning of production activities and budgets and coordinate maintenance activities with the maintenance team. 
  • Ensure the effective management and development of the work force. 
  • Fully utilize performance management tools for leadership growth and development. 
  • Participate in the development of capital and project plans and activities as well as annual plan (budget). 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Business, Industrial Engineering, or other related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in safely leading manufacturing processes, preventive maintenance and productivity/cost process improvements.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in lumber or wood products manufacturing required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills--oral, presentation, written, and listening. 
  • Ability to effectively work, communicate, and coordinate activities within all levels of the organization. 
  • Excellent planning, organizing, prioritizing, time management and delegation skills.
  • Experience and proven ability to lead teams in a non-union environment and promote a culture of trust and collaboration 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills--conflict management, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem solving. 
  • Ability to function as an effective team member. 
  • Strong mechanical and technical knowledge. 
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Desire to develop towards higher levels of responsibility
