Manage the Chilled Packaging Department. Prepare production reports, analyze data, production systems and make recommendations to improve efficiency and cost control. Ensure that employee training on safety and equipment operation is provided per company's policy. Conduct physical inspection of equipment of equipment and process system components. Implement new technology when appropriate. Understand policy, procedures, technical manuals, and other material pertaining to the operation. Monitor material usage and formula specifications. . Ensure productivity is maintained on all processes. Troubleshoot and diagnose operational problems. Review department records and reports to take follow up action. Understand policies, procedures, technical manuals and other materials pertaining to the operation and make decisions when appropriate. Communicate with customer about schedule changes and production challenges. Work with QA on the communication with suppliers to manage material quality. Manage test runs and new product introduction. Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation (i.e. timecards, attendance, counseling, etc.) Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Enforce safety and sanitation regulations. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency. Demonstrate good attendance. TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and skill equivalent to completion of 4 years of college, and 2 3 years experience in a supervisory job in a manufacturing plant, preferably a food or beverage plant. Knowledge of aseptic processing and mechanical aptitude is desirable. Ability to complete heavy workload (Physical Requirement in a fast paced environment. Multi-media communication skills. Ability to identify equipment problems. Ability to work well with people on a one-on-one basis and in groups
Some experience with packaging equipment is desirable such as EH3 and rotary fillers, casers, palletizers.
Operate other equipment when necessary. Learn to perform other jobs in the functional area. Be a team member in the quality improvement process. Participate in the CCJ safety program. Train new employees. Perform other duties as assigned.
