Sr. Scientist

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree (Advanced Degree is preferred) in Chemistry, Chemical
Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, from an accredited program, with a minimum of 10 years of coating formulation / coating process development experience, M.S. with 7 years, or Ph.D. with 5 years, respectively.  
  • Possesses and applies expert knowledge of make-up and rheology of coating fluids and mechanical properties of polymeric materials, with an in-depth understanding of raw materials used in the coatings industry;  
  • Subject matter expert in silicone release chemistry (solvent-less, aqueous emulsion), with extensive experience in silicone release liner coating and process development;
  • Track record of delivering new products meeting defined product specifications, cost targets and defined time-lines;    
  • Broad knowledge of coating application/drying fundamentals, with elements of process development is preferred; 3 and 5-roll coating application experience is highly desirable;   
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written), interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and computer skills;  
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills; Displays a sense of urgency and initiative with creativity and flexibility;   
  • Candidate must be comfortable interacting with members of various internal  departments, including R&D, Operations, Procurement, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, etc. and must be comfortable and confident communicating and interacting with his/her R&D counterpart within the Customer/Supplier;
  • In addition to being a key member of the Business Development / R&D team, candidate must be comfortable integrating with the Operations team to enable him/her to act as a key technical resource to both teams;
